The Design Visits visit places in Hamburg that are particularly exciting for designers. This time it's Made auf Veddel, a fashion and textile production facility where design, craftsmanship and social responsibility come together.
The new site in Rothenburgsort produces garments ranging from one-offs and small series to larger production runs. The customer base includes designers, start-ups and young labels as well as established brands.
During the tour, you will gain an insight into production and experience how fabric and craftsmanship are turned into finished clothing. At the same time, you will get to know a project that combines fashion production with active integration: The employees bring skills and experience from many different countries with them and can work and develop directly in the company even without formal certificates.

Made auf Veddel is within easy walking distance of the Rothenburgsort S-Bahn station. Several bus lines also stop at the Rothenburgsorter Marktplatz stop.
As part of the Design Visits, we take designers to exciting locations, exhibitions, production facilities, and craft workshops in Hamburg, such as print shops, textile and fashion production facilities, carpentry shops, metalworking shops, and recycling companies, as well as trade shows and museums.
During these excursions, you’ll gain fascinating insights into the institutions, workshops, manufacturing techniques, and production processes, and you’ll have the opportunity to find inspiration for future projects and make new connections.
Past excursions have included visits to the Museum für Museum für Kunst & Gewerbe (MK&G) and Montblanc Haus.
